About Venus de la Cruz

Venus de la Cruz is a business owner, community leader, military spouse, and advocate for faith, family, and responsible government. With more than 35 years of experience balancing family leadership, business management, and civic engagement, she brings firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing working families, small businesses, military communities, and local governments.
As the spouse of a 32-year Army Lieutenant Colonel, mother of six and grandmother of eighteen, Venus supported a demanding military career while managing the complex logistics of family life through relocations, deployments, and career transitions. This experience developed her resilience, adaptability, organizational skills, and deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by military families.
Venus is the founder and owner of Venus Vogue Inc., a successful bridal and formalwear business that includes tuxedo rentals and a popular event venue. Over the past six years, she has overseen hundreds of weddings, community events, political gatherings, and special occasions, managing business operations, customer relations, marketing, budgeting, vendor partnerships, scheduling, and strategic planning. As an entrepreneur, she has gained practical experience navigating regulations, meeting payroll, controlling expenses, and serving customers in a competitive marketplace.
She is also co-owner of a limousine service that provides trusted transportation for families, professionals, military personnel, and VIP clients throughout the region. This role has further strengthened her expertise in operations management, customer service, logistics, scheduling, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and reliability.
Her commitment to community service and civic engagement has led to numerous leadership positions within local and state organizations. Venus previously served as Secretary of the Cumberland County Republican Party, formerly served as treasurer of the Sandhills Republican Women in Action, and currently serves as Committee Woman of the North Carolina Republican Assembly. She is also Co-President of Active Duty Votes, an organization dedicated to educating active-duty military members and their families about their voting rights and encouraging civic participation within the military community.
Throughout her years of business ownership and community involvement, Venus has developed strong skills in leadership, public speaking, relationship building, event planning, volunteer management, strategic communication, fundraising, grassroots organizing, and organizational governance. She has worked closely with community leaders, elected officials, business owners, veterans, military families, and grassroots citizens, building relationships and advocating for policies that strengthen families, support economic growth, protect constitutional freedoms, and preserve individual liberty.
Her life experiences have provided a practical understanding of leadership, fiscal responsibility, problem-solving, and servant leadership. Venus believes effective government requires the same principles that make families, businesses, and communities successful: integrity, accountability, transparency, hard work, and a commitment to serving others.
As a candidate for the North Carolina Senate, District 19, Venus de la Cruz is committed to bringing common-sense leadership, conservative values, and a citizen-servant approach to Raleigh. She seeks to be a strong voice for the families, veterans, small businesses, and communities of Cumberland County, working to ensure a safer, stronger, and more prosperous future for North Carolina.
